Real Estate Tax Appeals

During a review of a client’s portfolio, FCC identified a group of multifamily housing properties located throughout the east coast whose assessed values were in excess of the market value of the properties.  FCC created a team of professionals to aggressively argue tax appeals with various local government bodies.  FCC, in some instances, crafted its argument under certain state statutes which require tax assessors to take into account all government restrictions affecting affordable housing when valuing such properties. FCC has saved over $700,000 annually in real estate taxes due to this aggressive approach.
